Funeral services for Marlin P.J. Minter, 85, of Lubbock at Rick's Funeral Home in Lubbock. Mr. Minter died on 4 April 1995 in his home. He was born on 3 July 1909 in Pine Forest, the son of Dr. Guy Z. Minter - Margie Penn. He married Frances Walkup in 1949. She preceded him in death on 3 April 1985. Mr. Minter graduated from Texas Tech in 1936 with an electrical engineering degree. He worked for G.E. for 11 years before returning to Tech where he taught electrical engineering for four years. He and his wife owned and operated a small appliance repair shop in Lubbock for 25 years. He was a 20-year Lubbock Rotarian and on the board of directors of the American Red Cross and the Better Business Bureau. He was a Texas Registered Professional Engineer and a life member of IEEE. He made several endowed scholarships to Texas Tech. Survivors include one nephew - Bill Lockhart; one niece - Dawn Berry; several Hopkins County relatives.
